New NAVANTIS Ship Simulator Presented at DIMDEX 2016
During DIMDEX 2016 in Doha (Qatar), NAVANTIA presented a new ship simulator named NAVANTIS (Navantia Training Integrated System) powered by UNIGINE 2 Sim.
First held in 2008, Doha International Maritime Defense Exhibition & Conference (DIMDEX) is a leading event in the international maritime defense and security industry calendar. Surpassing the success of previous years, DIMDEX 2016 attracted more exhibitors and higher levels of participation by welcoming 9,000 visitors and official VIP delegations from over 60 participating countries.
Based on its successful COMPLEX·SIMPLEX platform widely used for the implementation of Integrated Platform Management Systems (IPMS), Navantia Systems division, together with its technological partner Arisnova, has created a new training solution that increases the portfolio for this kind of system, already used by the Navies of Spain, Norway and Australia.
This new training system, based on UNIGINE technology, incorporates highly detailed and realistic virtual environment generation in order to train the crew in the operation of the ship in different mission scenarios. Counting on UNIGINE technology as well as their technical support service has very much helped to take the 3D virtual environment one step beyond and to achieve a major immersive, realistic sensation.
