Licensing

Licensing That Doesn't
Change Under Your Feet

No royalties. No revenue-based runtime fees. No surprises. UNIGINE has operated on the same licensing principles since 2005 — because your project timelines and procurement budgets deserve a vendor you can plan around.

License model

Annual Subscription

UNIGINE Sim is licensed as an annual subscription. Multi-year terms are available and commonly used by enterprise customers for budget planning purposes. Procurement-friendly custom agreements on request.

Royalties & runtime fees

None

No per-unit charges, no per-install fees, no revenue thresholds, no runtime fees on deployed simulators. Your commercial success does not change what you pay. The terms that apply when you sign remain in force.

Deployment

Royalty-Free, With One Note

Standard Sim licenses cover unlimited deployment of your simulator. For multi-channel IG configurations, optional per-channel deployment licensing is available — consistent with standard IG industry practice. Contact sales for specifics.

What the license covers

  • Full access to the UNIGINE Sim SDK — all modules, all features, all platforms
  • C++ and C# source-level access to engine APIs
  • All SDK updates and new releases during your subscription term, with priority hotfixes delivered to your active version branch
  • Named developer seats (exact count agreed at contract; additional seats available)
  • Rights to ship and deploy your simulator to end customers without per-deployment fees
  • Professional support package — dedicated CSM, helpdesk, coding assistance, optimisation review

What the license does not cover

  • Custom development services — source code modifications, bespoke features, or content creation by UNIGINE engineers (available separately)
  • Re-licensing UNIGINE technology to your customers — your customers access your simulator product, not the SDK directly
  • Per-channel IG deployment fees for multi-channel configurations (separate optional add-on)
SDK vs. runtime distinction

UNIGINE Sim is a developer SDK. Your end customers use the simulator you build — they do not need a UNIGINE license. Runtime deployment of your simulator to end users is royalty-free.

Why licensing stability matters for simulation projects

Simulation projects have long development cycles — 12 to 36 months is common — and deployed simulators run for 5 to 15 years. A licensing model that changes mid-project or mid-deployment creates real procurement and legal risk. UNIGINE has operated on the same licensing principles since 2005. The runtime fee episode in the game engine industry demonstrated what that risk looks like in practice; UNIGINE Sim customers were unaffected.

* Sim licenses are royalty-free and carry no revenue-based runtime fees. Optional per-channel deployment licensing is available for multi-channel IG configurations, consistent with standard industry practice. Seat counts, multi-year terms, and deployment-specific arrangements are agreed at contract. Contact sales for full terms.

Ready to evaluate UNIGINE Sim?

Full feature evaluation is available for qualified projects — typically a 2–4 week process. If you already know what you need, our team is ready to discuss licensing and deployment.

Step 01

Share your brief

Tell us your project domain, timeline, and key technical requirements.

Step 02

Technical call

30-minute call with a UNIGINE engineer who knows your domain — your questions, your architecture.

Step 03

Full SDK access

Evaluate the complete Sim SDK on your actual project — with engineering support throughout.

How teams typically start: A leading automotive simulation platform — used by more than 20 OEMs worldwide — evaluated UNIGINE Sim against all available 3D engines in 2020. The technical evaluation led to full adoption. Their flagship product shipped one year later, with physically accurate visualisation cited as the primary upgrade by management and end customers.
