Winners of Linux game development contest get free Unigine engine licenses

December 13, 2010 - Unigine Corp. named the winners of the recently launched competition to support Linux game development. All three winning teams are awarded with free licenses for the top-notch Unigine engine to develop a native Linux game.

"The original idea was to award with a free license only the best submission, but we decided that Linux gamers deserve to have as much new titles as we can possibly help to jump-start. All three top teams will get the powerful and versatile technology to pursue their game ideas", commented Denis Shergin, CEO of Unigine Corp.

Kot-in-Action

Kot-in-Action Creative Artel is a small independent video game developer, a privately owned entity dedicated to creating and producing fun to play video games. It's an international team with members scattered across the USA and the rest of the world. Headquarters are located in Texas, USA.

"We want to create a new puzzle/platform game (with a little adventure) where we will work extensively on graphic design, visual and physical effects (dynamical objects destruction, fluids, interaction betweens Elements, i.e. fire, water, air, ground etc.) to make living and magical environments", said Christophe Houllier, Director of the studio.
