Made For Professional Simulators
UNIGINE 3D volumetric multilayer cloud system is designed especially for enterprise flight simulators and meets the strict requirements applicable to them.
Advanced Lighting
Lighting and shadows are calculated according to the sophisticated physical models to give the lifelike look of the sky.
Outstanding Performance
UNIGINE cloud system features multiple performance optimizations for real-life hardware, which gives a smooth real-time experience even when combined with complex scenes.
Flying Under, Over, And Inside The Clouds
Be it an ATC (air traffic control) tower, a general aviation aircraft, a jet fighter or a UAV — all of them will see the correct image. Clouds in UNIGINE are represented by true 3D volumetric objects.
All Ten Cloud Types Right Out-Of-The-Box
There are ten types of clouds in nature: Altocumulus, Altostratus, Cirrocumulus, Cirrostratus, Cirrus, Cumulonimbus, Cumulus, Nimbostratus, Stratocumulus, Stratus.
All of them will be available right out-of-the-box as configurable presets in the upcoming UNIGINE 2.14 release.
Multiple Layers
In nature, different types of clouds are located at different altitudes. In UNIGINE, you can also add multiple layers of clouds of configurable height, and they will blend together.
No Visual Artifacts
Forget about flickering, noise, incorrect depth sorting, or other annoying artifacts, which can ruin the immersion if less advanced technology is used.
Ready To Use
You don’t need to be a shader guru to start using clouds in UNIGINE — simply add them to the scene and adjust physical parameters (type, coverage, wind, etc.). Optimized presets are available for every cloud type, including that giant cumulonimbus.
Round Earth-Friendly
The cloud system supports Earth curvature to simulate real-world scenarios.
Simulation-Friendly API
UNIGINE cloud system is designed for professional flight simulators, which are a complex set of intercommunicating software and hardware. Both C++ and C# APIs are available for easy control of every parameter. There are optimized functions for typical simulation tasks: visibility checks, LOS requests, etc. — you name it.
