The UNIGINE technology has been tailored and proven effective for the simulation and virtual reality industries over years of usage. Since 2005, these features have been refined in close cooperation with our customers on various worldwide simulation, training and VR projects.


Multi-Channel Image Generation

UNIGINE's "Syncker" system allows multi-channel rendering involving several PCs connected over a network, and performs synchronized rendering of the same scene with different viewports. This allows a stable 60 Hz frame rate even for ultra-resolution, 360-degree display systems.

Non-Linear Image Correction

There is built-in non-linear image mapping (warping) in the renderer right out of the box. The engine also provides auto-stitched Fisheye (for dome projection) and 180-degree panorama (cylinder projection) modes.


Edge Blending

Software edge blending for multi-projector systems replaces expensive hardware solutions while compensating for overlaps with the same efficiency.


Asymmetric Projection Support

Thanks to asymmetric projection support, you can create flight/vehicle simulators with front and side screens set at an arbitrary angles, even in a single-channel rendering mode.


CAVE

Cave Automatic Virtual Environment is another use case for the engine, where projectors are directed to three, four, or six walls of a room-sized cube in order to create incredibly immersive experiences.


Video Walls

UNIGINE features customizable walls of monitors via our proprietary AppWall engine plugin in addition to supporting the standard multi-monitor technologies:

Stereoscopy

The UNIGINE has native support of stereo 3D rendering. Since the implementation does not rely on a special stereo 3D driver, it is a fully capable cross-platform solution compatible with:

  • Anaglyph (red-cyan)
  • Side-by-side
  • Interlaced
  • NVIDIA 3D Vision
  • NVIDIA 3D Surround
  • Oculus Rift
  • Dual-screen system with independent input for each eye

UNIGINE comes with a set of internal optimizations for stereo 3D and also utilizes professional features like Quad Buffered Stereo.


Head-Mounted Displays

UNIGINE 2 provides native support for Oculus Rift and HTC Vive. Other models of HMDs can be added easily via the C++ API.


Motion Capture

The engine supports hundreds of VR devices: 6DOF motion and orientation detection controllers, flysticks, optical motion trackers, etc.

    Touchscreen
